BrainTrainer Coordination Meeting, Tallinn

The BrainTrainer has completed its first successful year as an official ESTIEM Project. We organized two events (Eindhoven and Bucharest) and had a productive CoM in Zagreb. Our aim with the BrainTrainer Coordination Meeting in Tallinn is to get together and work on important issues regarding the project such as:

• Grants applications for the events
• Developing training structure and collecting ideas for appropriate training packages
• Brainstorming about a trainer database
• Brainstorming about cooperation with ESTIEM trainers and EPIEM
• Company brochures, partner trainer companies
• Working on central organised certificates for participants
• Ideas for promotion (posters, brochures, gadgets)
• Recording scenes for the promotion video

And of course you are going to experience the wonderful city of Tallinn with the most beautiful Estonian girls and the macho Estonian guys.

After the BrainTrainer CoM we’ll additionally have a small roadtrip through the Baltics. Starting from Local Group Tallinn we’ll also visit Local Group Riga and Vilnius to meet up with ESTIEMers from other great cities in the Baltics.

1st joint Academic Event, Bad Wildbad

Due to environmental considerations as well as the natural and economic limits of resource usage, the need for new, sustainable technologies is continuously increasing.

The 1st joint Academic Event of ESTIEM and ESTIEM Alumni taking place February 24th to 26th, 2012 in Bad Wildbad near Karlsruhe (http://www.cvjm-sonnenberg.de/ferienheimcvjm ) will therefore focus on the topic "New Technologies in Future Markets". Besides gathering knowledge about sustainable development, we’d also like to use the event to foster academical and social exchange between ESTIEM and ESTIEM Alumni.

• 10 ESTIEMer à participation fee: 25 €

Dutch Carnaval Activity Week, Eindhoven

Dear ESTIEMers,

Are you prepared for an awesome activity week? Do you want to experience real Dutch culture? Do you want to walk the polonaise with locals? Then join our Carnaval Activity Week from 15th to 20th of February in Eindhoven. Carnaval is a traditional week that is celebrated in the south of the Netherlands. It means a lot of partying, dressing up, going nuts and insane other stuff. You will get to know more about our city and region. You will have parties in our famous bar street Stratumseind and our notorious faculty pub "The Villa". We have arranged a company visit at DAF Trucks (a Dutch truck manufacturer), tandem cycling, pub crawls, hangover swimming and traditional dinners. Moreover, you will visit the capital of the province Noord-Brabant, Den Bosch, to taste a bit of their Carnaval culture!

Be quick to apply, the application period opens on Friday the 13th of January, there are 18 spots available of which six will be for ESTIEMers from Porto as they will have the LG Exchange during the same week! Deadline for this activity week will close on the 5th of February. First come first served!

The participation fee will be 75 euro and covers all costs for food, accommodation, transport, activities and the pub crawl (you won't be able to finish all the beers). So get dressed and sign up for this unforgettable week!

XVIII International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management, Guimarães

It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the XVIII International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (ICIEOM 2012) that will be held, for the first time, outside Brazil. ICIEOM 2012 is co-organized by the Brazilian Association of Production Engineering (ABEPRO) and Department of Production and Systems (DPS) of the School of Engineering, University of Minho (UMinho), and will take place in Guimarães (2012 European Cultural Capital), Portugal, between 9 and 11 of July 2012.
